Users – Customer Zone Permissions

Purpose

This page allows you to control which zones of a customer a user is permitted to access. Permissions are always defined per user and per customer.

Prerequisites

This function is only available if the user’s role supports zone restrictions.

Usage

First select a customer on the left. You can then adjust the permissions on the right. Changes always apply only to the currently selected customer and are saved immediately.

Permission Types

In the state No restriction, the user has access to all existing zones as well as all zones that will be created in the future.

In the state None allowed, the user has no access to the customer’s zones.

With restricted access, permissions are defined using two lists. Move the required zones to the Allowed list. Only these zones will be available to the user; all others are considered not allowed.

Special Cases

The entry “-” represents objects without an assigned zone. If this entry is in the Allowed list, the user can access such objects. Otherwise, access is not permitted.

Typical Scenarios

For full access, select No restriction. If no access is required, select None allowed. To allow access to specific zones, move only those zones to the Allowed list. To allow access only to objects without a zone, move only the “-” entry. Combinations of zones and objects without a zone are also possible.

Notes

Changes are saved immediately. New zones are only automatically allowed in the No restrictions state. With restricted access, only entries in Allowed apply.
